Members gr8fuldodd
so after a long hiatus I have some time to mess around with some digital multi-tracking but as I lay down tracks, I keep getting these scratchy blips every so often what's that about? is it because my computer processor isn't good enough? am I not good enough? Members jrowan
I believe it has to do with the specs of your system. Does the popping go away if you increase the latency (thus taking it easier on your hardware)? If yes, then that's probably your culprit.

Members jrowan
The amount of time between you hitting the string and sound coming out. Basically, the lower the latency, the better the correspondence between strum and sound. However, this also means your computer has to process everything faster. Some comps can't, hence the pops. If you increase the latency (labeled as buffer size in Gearbox), you should be able to get rid of the popping without the guitar tone being noticeably out of sync. It's under Edit->Preferences->Hardware->Guitarport Driver Settings
