Members Dr. T Posted August 10, 2007 Members Share Posted August 10, 2007 As of right now, I use my Bad Monkey as a permanent boost on my amps clean channel and on the gain channel. The cleans sound absolutely incredible, and break up really nicely when I pick harder, etc. However, I really want to try putting a tubescreamer to give me that sort of SRV-esque lead tone, as my amps gain is a bit too dark and boxy and doesn't really give me that really scorching, mid-rangey sustain that I so desire. Members mark7171 Posted August 10, 2007 Members Share Posted August 10, 2007 i often use a overdrive after chosen my dirt pedal. like the MXR distortion +, followed by a wyld OD zw-44. sounds awsome or a fuzz type after a tubescreamer type . how about a boosta grande followed by maximizer (882i has level Leds) into tube clean channel. use the extra gain to level the signal so it clips at max gain, before tube breakup.
