Members Nibbles
As you can see I am a newbie here and may be posting this thread in the wrong area, please let me know if that is the case. From the reviews I have read a lot of guys prefer the DR770 over the 880 because the 770 has a/b drum fills and the 880 does not. In other words, if you want to create fills/transitions on the 880 you have no choice but to program them yourself. I have never used either of these machines so I do not know this to be a fact. A lot of the reviews harken back to the Alesis SR 16 and its a/b fill capability. I used the Alesis for several years but I was never real happy with the sounds, i.e. really dated 80s drums with reverb that I could not dial out. I did appreciate the a/b fill option and I can't imagine using a machine that did not have that capability. It's hard enough to program a song without having to program every drum fill. Any opinions/experience with the 770 and 880?
Members CHOUTMUSIC
My band uses 3 drum machines...we have a 770 and DR-3 (the basic boss model)...never used an 880 though. I must say I prefer the layout of the DR-3 much more than the 770, but obviously the 770 has a broader amount of sounds. The 880 looks sweet though.
