Members RyanVanHalen
I've just recently got an Electro Harmonix H.O.G. for an early Christmas present, and it's overwhelming how cool it is Does anyone have one that they could offer my noob skills some input on some good settings for it? Let me know! Much love!
Members mark7171
all the octaves on 60 %, no 5ths. no original in mix. spectral gate "on", filter "on" one slider at 50% other at 60%. no highest octave. manually up that slider with a free strum hand durring sustains, for a incomming high end resonance.. or place the above in the FX loop of a moog delay, applying it to just the echos...amazing tracking. amazing octave generator. trying with your voice. blending it with the original/dry. Members slight-return
I think it's just kind of a matter of "season to taste" try keeping the way upper harmonics down (just like most physical harmonic series...those upper harmonics are, typically, not that huge) use that spectral gate! pick at different places to bring out different harmonic profiles when using the non-octave harmonics (with 3rds and fifth, etc) -- keep in mind that the result is going to be more dense from a musical harmony (as well as from a purely spectral) point of view...so play more simply the filter is your friend for sustained stuff set one of the bands to very gradually fade in don't be afraid to sustain a sound and adjust AS its riging out
