Members khastra_ksc
I got a DL4. Never had, nor played, one before. How awesome is the expression pedal? Should I "totally go get one", or does it actually really enhance the pedal's flexability.
Members hurleysurf
I've had three of those units. I love it, but never had an expression pedal for it. No need I don't think. Unless you find yourself needing to save more than 3 presets.
Members khastra_ksc
Ok... So how is it that I can save more than three with the expression? If its down, thats one?
Members hurleysurf
yea... cocked forward is one preset and cocked back is another on each of the first 3 footswitches. there might be some that you can make the exp pedal control the delay time or something. but again... i dont think its worth it. use the tap tempo. Members MathiasWilliam
I have a DL4 and i used a volume pedal as a expression pedal, its not that great, it adds nothing new to it. Basically the same as when you play a note and play with the delay time setting
Members Agreed
You're better off spending your money on a backup for when it croaks.

Members TechBrother
I've owned I DL-4 for 5 years and I hate myself for not getting the expression pedal sooner than last month. You can save a preset with the heel down then adjust the effect and save it again with the the toe down setting allowing you to have another preset. You can't change the delay model though, you can only change the other parameters (delay time, repeats, tweak, tweez & mix). I would suggest not changing the delay time between foot pedal positions because when you use the pdeal you get a crazy warp sound (unless you want that). I generally just save my delay settings to have more repeats. That way heel down is short, quiet, unobtrusive delays then tow down is the same delay but more repeats and more dramatic. The exp. pedal is NOT very good at blending between the sounds. You can also use a momentary switch instead of the exp pedal. Then it's like having an additional bank of 3 presets. Members Drumas funk
I really want to get one (not an expression pedal) but these reliability stories are making me iffy about it. Anyway, enjoy yours.
Members Noise...
I wouldn't mind having one either. It's one of the few Line 6 pedals I actually want.
Members ToneJamFX
If you're going to use it for looping I say "yes". Reason If you set it toe up, and adjust the loop delay settings with little or no delay, and then set it toe down, and set it for lead type delay it gives you two different delay settings in loop mode.
