Should my compressor go in the loop?

Just wondering... Not really an effects guy, but I got a Line 6 ToneCore comp. for X-Mas and I've never had a compressor before... SO where does it go?

 

My chain so far is TU-2 > Crybaby > Amp

In the loop I was gonna put my DD-3 and DL4... Is that wise as well?

There's no solid rules for effects other than what sounds best to you. I put my comp out in front...after wah... but before any OD/ distortion.

Time-based effects do fine in the loop.

depends what you want to do with it.

If you put it at the end, it'll even out the volume of all your effects.

If you put it in front, it'll even the dynamics of your playing.

If you put it in the loop, that's probably going to sound similar to putting it at the end of the chain.
