Members super988man
I'm thinking of picking up a japanese Fender strat in the next couple of weeks; are these as good as they're made out to be? older ones on par with current MIA standards? or would a highway 1 or standard be a better idea? Members Dr.Picklebottom
i had a 70s reissue natural finish (fake ass fotoflame) (from early '90s) MIJ strat and i hated it. the neck felt like a baseball bat and the pickups were thin and squealy. total poop. now, i dont like strats or fenders in general, but this was one of the worst non-squire fenders ive played. very reminiscent of a poopish type of a vibe. then why did i buy it? thats none of your business. suck it. ;(
Members super988man
that sucks that you didn't like it but maybe it was just a lame model or it was basswood or something? also i was hoping it had gay motorcycle flames all over it
Members Stravinsky
I've played a few mid 80's strats and teles that were easily on par with a current american std. - some even nicer, as the nitro finish had aged 20+ years.
Members friction
I've got an '80s MIJ strat with the funky bridge/fine tuners/locking nut and I love it. I've never played a MIA strat to compare though. I never liked strats before I had this guitar.
