He was using the "glissando" ribbon controller to bend the pitch with one hand, while holding the note with the other. It's kind of sad that I know this. I recall seeing him (on TV- yeah, like I would pay to see him live) behind a huge Moog Modular. Donny is an outstanding musician. I played with him a few years ago ( I am a backup violinist). He is a very versatile singer, has a great band. More importantly, he is a very cool guy. Very down to earth, but not as dorky as you would think. Plus, the dude had like 3000 MILFS at the show.
