Members Michael McGlenn
On my Pedalboard I have a Fender Tuner, a true bypass loop box, a Zakk Wylde wah and a Digitech RP80. I'm powering them all with a Visual Sound 1 Spot and daisy chain. I was getting a terrible electric motor type hum and started unplugging the power supplies. I unplugged the RP80 and with battery power, it went away. I put a stand alone wall wart on my RP80 and it's quiet now. What do you think is wrong with the 1 Spot on the one pedal? Thanks! Members smrz
The hum is a problem that a non-isolated power supply runs into with some digital pedals when they're in a daisy chain. Only an adapter with isolated outs, like a Pedal Power, multiple adapters, or battery power would get around this problem.
Members Michael McGlenn
Makes sense, thanks. That RP80 is a quirky thing because I can't put it in front of any amp with any gain whatsoever without a terrible hiss/squeal. I'm running it from my JMP-1 Main out to the RP80 and back to my EQ and Poweramp.
