Members 88mm
Alright... Help me connect and route all this crap. Reel to Reel Player Tape Deck Record Player Computer Amp (old receiver) M-Audio delta 66 I would like to record onto and play back on the Tape deck, Reel to Reel and Computer. I would like to do this without unhooking and re-hooking up these things. Most important I would like to be able to record FROM all tape machines and Record player onto the computer. I know I will need a "mixer" of some sort to work this out. So if you guys can get me going that would be GREAT!

Members 88mm
Yes I do do some recording on the computer. The amp does not have enough in and outs for both the tape machines and I will need to record and get playback from the computer. The Delta 66 has 4 in and 4 out Right now I am using 2 ins for 2 mic pre amps2 of the outs are the Right and Left channels of output to the amp aux. input. Members bikehorn
What you really need is not a receiver but a preamp with two tape monitor loops, one for the tape deck and one for the RTR machine. It's possible your receiver has a preamp output too, allowing it to function as a preamp only, but this is something that only appeared on higher end models, so if yours isn't one of those, you'll need something different. So, what you're going to do is: put the RTR and tape decks in the tape monitor loops, thus allowing you to play back and record from both. connect turntable to the phono input. ensure ground cable is connected. connect computer audio output(M Audio) to aux input on preamp. connect preamp output to computer audio input(M Audio). You could do all of this with a Hafler DH-110. They can be had for cheap, are easily modifiable for higher performance, and sound great right out of the box. Contrary to popular myth, Hafler used to be a hi-fi company, not a company that just makes power amps for control room monitoring. BTW, a DH-110 plus a nice power amp makes a nice entry audiophile setup
