Members chrismd465
Firstly, I must confess, I am a terrible solderer. Anyhow, I was attempting to resolder the output jack on my guitar (a two-humbucker ibanez semi-hollow), and everything seemed to go alright.I plug in the guitar, and the signal is nice and strong, but lo and behold, there is a VERY LOUD hum originating from the guitar. It is almost as loud as the guitar sound itself. This guitar has all passive electronics (as all guitars should, IMO). what could I have done? Is the grounding wire loose? Did I fry a part?
