Members iamthearm
so i just snagged an 88 rat the other day. i hooked it up to my rig today and jammed around with it a while, when i'm on my bridge pickup of my LP it sounds like its clipping or compressing out really bad. i've only played it with the battery it came with, i haven't hooked up a power source yet but it works fine on my bridge pickup, no clip. so i put my tubeslammer next to it as a booster and no clip! it actually sounds amazing together, but i'd like to be able to just use the rat on its own too without a separate overdrive. my question is, is this normal? and if not how can i fix it? Members greenweenie
Try it with a power supply or fresh battery first.

Members iamthearm
okay captians obvious i replaced the battery and hooked it up to my pedal power 2+ and guess what... it still clips out on super low notes on the bridge pickup only. sounds like its getting overloaded somehow, i really don't want to lower my pickups i just had my guitar professionally set up and none of my other distortion pedals do this.
