Members cowby
HI, I bought a M3 and would like to add either ES-Rack or Roland XR. I only got a chance to demo XR and I love their piano, GT and string sounds. However, I heard that ES-Rack also got very good Acoustic instruments so pls give me some idea on choosing the right one. Members Son of HuHefner
its too close to call, they are both 9.5/10 There might be a sligtest edge to the XR since you can spend lotsa $$$ loading up 6 SRX boards into it Other than that, and this is incredibly shocking advice, you will need to listen to the ES-Rack as closely as the XR and determine, overall, which you like better
Members cowby
thanks for your reply. Actually, I've heard and played SE90ES. If the sound sets are the same as ES rack, then I found the piano was a bit dark to me. The ultimate grand in Fantom-X is darn good. Talking about the expansion, I think I may go for XR. Members Son of HuHefner
I agree, that preference for piano is # 1 Make sure you check out Rolands new Sonic Cell before you spend the $$ for the XR
