Members kyrreca
So, several big name artists have teamed up to fight the man. http://www.featuredartistscoalition.com/index.html The Featured Artists' Coalition campaigns for the protection of performers' and musicians' rights. We want all artists to have more control of their music and a much fairer share of the profits it generates in the digital age. We speak with one voice to help artists strike a new bargain with record companies, digital distributors and others, and are campaigning for specific changes. Members include David Gilmour, The Verve, Iron Maiden, and a band called Radiumhead or something. So what do you guys think? Will these mavericks be able to topple the record companies and give musicians more control over their own art?
Members ghost219
i think they have a fair shot if their numbers grow fast. there are already some acts that are bypassing labels and letting the fans distribute their music for them. letting the fans make a cut of the sales. the more the fans sell, the more money they can make, along with the band. one band that's doing this is called Telescreen. look them up on myspace.
