Members MakuseruSukotto
they probably shouldn't be using the generic term 'muff' with all their products then They don't generically call things "muff". We are the ones that do that. Each of their products have their own name, most people just call any of their circuits with "muff" in the name a "muff". Members Reauchambeau
it's derived from the Muff Fuzz,so calling it a Muff and a Fuzz is completely correct, the Muff Fuzz predates the Big muff btw.
Members Byronamatron
The Big Muff is a fuzz pedal. The Muff Fuzz was probably cleaner than the name implies. If I'm not mistaken, the Double Muff is two MF's with the option to use just one or have the two "stacked", with the added benefit of only having to step on one pedal (and have consistent volume level when turning the first one up). In double mode, the first fuzz acts more like a gain control, and the range of gain goes from clean to overdrive. The OD is a little rough around the edges, but also fairly transparent. Members Liberty Belle
they probably shouldn't be using the generic term 'muff' with all their products then, you can see why people could easily be confused...Not only that, but all the advertising blurbs written by EX always suggest that '2 muffs stacked on top of each' is the case.so 'not' a fuzz then?not sure if i entirely need an overdrive, my amp already overdrives enough. No, its definitely not a fuzz!BTW. The muff fuzz overdrive came first so if anything people should be confused thinking the big muff is an overdrive not the double muff a fuzz.
