Members ateah
For owners of squeaky wahs/whammys/volume pedals what did you use to get the squeaky gone and where did you get it? I'm thinking about axle grease but I don't want to go over board.

Members L_Z_nut
I usually turn up my amp till I don't hear the squeak anymore. If you can hear your pedals making noise, you're not playing loud enough.
Members rdm
since when is there a wrong use for wd? When you're trying to get your wah to stop squeaking. :poke: There's a lube called White Lightning. Try that. WD-40 is a water displacement spray, and actually cleans things while leaving a greasy resibue behind. What will happen is the WD40 will get rid of the lube that you want there to keep the pedal from squeaking, and eventually leave you with a buildup of grease and gunk. You want to be using contact cleaners like DeToxit.

Members Lou Speed
Is it a scratchy pot or is the wah treadle squeaking? If it's a scratchy pot some Deoxit should work. I don't think you're supposed to put wd-40 on pots. I've used wd-40 on squeaky treadles before with no problems. Just make sure you use that red straw thing and don't use too much.
