Members raffor
Re. Sizzle's remark re my remark on VSE re the filter:The Nord's filter is resonant but will not self-oscillate. I like the NL for the rolandish filters, snappy envelopes, and the beautiful sounding PWM. Besides it has some nice non-analog sounding FM, has this niffty velocity assign feature and is just plain simple to program. The ION I like for the different envelope slope (after all, I am using mainly the exp mode), the beautiful 2pole OB filter next to other great filter models, the pre- and post filter, and the mod matrix with tracking generator. However, you need much more time to wip out a decent sound. Non of these synths I would have bought for the keyboard though.
Members mrcpro
How bad is the action? If you've never played a Nord Lead, imagine a line with good on one side and bad on the other. Nord Leads are on the bad side. Just how far into bad is personal opinion I guess. They are all far enough over the center into bad to be something I wouldn't buy. If you like the Nord sound and care about such things, be safe and get the Lead 2x Rack.
