Members Kid_A
...I seen the deftones site earlier today and really liked how it was laid out. I really dont want one of those widgets as they look cheesy as... So do any of you know the correct coding to do that? Im ok at html, but this seems too complicated for me
Members IvIark
You'd need to embed some sort of Atom reader. It would be easier to do if the site was some sort of content management system because the code to display a feed is a standard component in something like Joomla. If it's a conventional HTML site then you're going to need to look at some sort of Atom or RSS widget.
Members Kid_A
thanks for the info, im looking into this now, though i get the feeling it will still have to be in some kind of a widget form. I have the RSS URL for my bands updates, but to get them onto the webpage, I will need to a buld a widget as per these instructions: http://cutewriting.blogspot.com/2008/12/creating-twitter-widgets-cool-new.html
Members MrChrisos
Ah man, I found a code for doing something similar but the link's on my home PC. Will try and get it to you. In the end it was kinda more hassle than it's worth, I went with just putting the widget in a personalised frame (see my page below). On a quick search just now there are claims it can slow down your page too, but I'm not sure about that from personal experience.
