Roland JP-8000 vs nord leads

i haven't try the pre 24bitDA nord lead models

i owned 2x rack and JP8080 a year ago

the jp has more edge/power to its sound, fatter, much more possibility

2x has more smooth bright transparent softer tone

the attack envelop on 2x is faster than jp

 

i thought that jp8080 sound more powerfully and fuller because the delay

but i put various delay plugins on 2x, it still have the pure smoth, very focused bright tone

if theres one more envlops and more mod patch points, in performance mode with 4 patches, 2x will be very cool

 

and, in the mix,my ears tell me that both synths occupie different dimentions of depth in sound field

I think that the supersaw oscillator on the JP also has some noise mixed in, I tried creating a similar patch on the V-Synth (vengeance SoulOfTrance) and It only started sounding like the JP after mixing in a second noise oscillator.

 

Maybe this is where the JP gets some of it's "power", it does have an elusive colouration in all of it's sounds.
