Members 45below
Like some of you know, I'm a real newbie at guitar effects, so bear with me. I've been listening to this song: The River, by Good Charlotte. Basically, I was wondering what kind of effect is used on the lead guitar. The one I'm thinking of is the one that you hear the loudest, it's a higher, brighter, more trebely sound in front. (I hope that makes sense) Is that just an overdrive? Or is there some other effect in there that I don't know about? Thanks
Members eti
On the solo? That's just an overdrive/distortion. Or one that starts at 0:46? Sounds like he's hitting harmonics with lots of delay/reverb/compression.

Members 45below
Good Charlotte is crap. I have to agree 50%. Some is not that bad. On the solo? That's just an overdrive/distortion. Or one that starts at 0:46? Sounds like he's hitting harmonics with lots of delay/reverb/compression. I was actually talking about at the beginning, around 0:05 but it's probably the same guitar. Thanks
