Members xmlguy
tyros 3 vs xs7? any opinions? If cost were no object: On a stage, XS7. In a studio, Tyros X. If you want a weighted 88, XS8. If you want the best Tyros/XS sounds at a value price: The MOTIF Rack XS or the PSR-S900.

Members Dr.Innovation
thank you.I dont gig i just record at home. The xs motif seems a bit lacking to me but i have no experience whatsoever with the tyros. Did you say the XS Motif is "lacking?" What type of music do you play? Do you play only live, or do you compose? Do you use leads in your songs? I ask you these Q's because the Tyros 3 isn't going to be the end all of arrangers... I don't know much about it either but hearing the demos, the piano seems to come from the top of the line Tyros type Yamaha-which is a CP** I believe, and it was about 8 grand or so @ Costco (special tent sale...) That piano destroyed the XS Motif's offering of a grand, so in that respect the Tyros seems to have an identical patch-more so than the XS anyway. Which is why I ask you what kind of keyboardist are you? I wouldn't get the Tyros for electronica. Have you played the T2? You can't edit patches like you can on the XS, that is if you even tweak sounds? The T3 won't have a weighted feel on the keys as on the XS, but there is a reason why a plastic keybed on the T3 retails MORE than the 88key XS8...Sound Quality.
