Members Frozen Roadkill
Developing major GAS for a Harmonic Perrcolator. Has anyone used one of the Theremaniac clones? Any other fuzz/distortion that gets close to the original Interfax Percolator?
Members damacy
Relevant to my interests. Anyone's got a gut shot of the Theremaniacs' version? They claim they're identical in and out. I'm convinced that the schematic is correct, but I won't spend $200 on a simple circuit like that unless it's IDENTICAL to the original. I mean all the resistors, capacitors, transistor and diodes. Here's a gut shot of the original HP-1 that I found on the DiscoFreq's site. Definitely some obscure stuff in there.
Members damacy
Any other fuzz/distortion that gets close to the original Interfax Percolator? The Barge Concept BP-1 is supposedly a clone of the Perc, but doesn't sound anything like one from the clips I've heard. Fredric Effects make one too - http://www.fredric.co.uk/effects/index.php?content=harmonicpercolator. If you are good with a soldering iron, then build yourself a clone and see what it sounds like first. If you want to nail that Albini tone, get yourself an aluminium neck guitar first!
