Trade your gear for dental work...?

I like the second one better. The first one bugs me a bit because a nasty demon in the back of my head is whispering that maybe the dentist is fishing for people down on on their luck. Who knows though, maybe you can trade for more money's worth of dental work than you would get using cash and maybe the dentist can eliminate the middle man to get his tube amp. Both are a different way for people to do things and get what they need or want. Money is a convenient container of value for trading but using it is certainly not the only way.

I wasn't judging the "barter" method. Heck, I've used it! For instance, I swapped a low end HP Laserjet (new, in box) with installation for $500 worth of glasses about five years ago. The printer had cost me about $170 (wholesale), but I'm convinced the optometrist made out better than I did. In the end, though, we were both happy, and that's what counts. Barter avoids taxes, too...although my CPA sez that technically, taxes on the market value of the bartered goods has to be remitted. :freak:
