volume pedals & boosters

Hi,

 

there are some cool looking volume pedals out there, but every single one of them has a review somewhere which says "sucks" either tone or volume when compared to the *raw* signal from a guitar to an amp. so if there is any signal drop-out what's wrong with 'booster' pedals in the line up of effects?

I use a cheap Bespeco-style volume pedal as a booster in the effects loop. It works alright, and you can get the boost level you desire, which is neat.

 

And about tone suck: no one notices it when you play in a full band with a loud drummer and three other players. Use your amp EQ and don't be a wuss.
