Members Ryan.
When I was in high school we had a class where we could sandblast glass. It was sweet. Has anyone ever seen a glossy guitar that has been sand blasted with a design or anything?
Members ATauO
I can think of old metal body, nickle parts/covers National Resophonic guitars would sandblast designs in, but a normal finish on a guitar would require a super hard, super thick finish. Members Mike_E_McGee
Here's some pix of my NRP Style O. It's brass bodied and nickel plated. I have no idea what sand blasting would do to a wooden guitar's clear coat.
Members Ryan.
I would assume a light sand blast to a clear coat finish would produce an effect similar to etched glass.

I vote no, but I want you to try it so, I vote YES:evil:. (I'm thinking it would rip through any nitro finish and poly isn't hard enough and would push away, basically sand would strip your guitar, but please.. DO IT ANYWAYS>>> )

I really don't think it would be that bad. In the class I had you could adjust the blaster to very very light settings, which would take days to etch glass. Maybe I'll give it a shot with my Ibanez RG... :lem::lem::lem::lem::lem::lem::lem::lem:
Members jnepo1
I've seen a few guitars painted w/ "White Out", pretty intriguing. For me, lately I've thought about using 3M reflective sheets and doing up some MC Escher artwork and applying it on my Strat pickguard.
