Members bluesguitar65
Got these from eBay in the mail today. Seller's description was for a "PTC (Princeton Technology)" PT2399 chip and this is what was sent to me, a "DTC" branded PT2399. Notice the differences in physical structure in the photos between a PTC branded PT2399 chip? I paid $8.95 for 20. This legit or fake?
Members cryptosonic
As strange as it sounds to counterfeit a four dollar chip I am convinced there are fakes out there. The units I last got from tayda are pretty bad compared to my first few batches: noisy and prone to lockup/failure. I traced a dbd for months before I figured out it wasn't my wiring, it was crummy chips. Fwiw mine were labelled correctly.
Members bluesguitar65
Man, I guess they will fake anything these days. At least yours were labled correctly, mine was pretty obvious and yet the seller was bold enough to describe the item as "PTC" and in the invoice as pictured in the photos clearly states "PTC Audio" and sends 20 "DTC" branded PT2399.
