Members Player99
I am going to need to run a humidifier all winter so my guitars don't get dried up. I heat with a wood stove and it gets pretty dry here. Usually my guitars get the fret barbs from the neck shrinking, and lacquer cracks again from the dry air. I have put water on the wood stove but it does not do it. The wood stove is in the kitchen and the guitar room is off the kitchen.I read that the newer technologies are suspect as they can put other things in the air like minerals that can have negative health effects. They also clog up. I will probably have to use melted snow because my well water is high in iron.Any suggestions...I mean serious suggestion you pack of smart asses? Members BrentMpls
Buy a $1 plastic soap dish holder thing from target or wherever. Buy a sponge that fits inside. Punch holes in the soap holder. Wet sponge. Put sponge in holder. Put finished product in guitar case under headstock/neck. Done! If you leave them outside of a case, you'l have to look into a humidifier which are germ machines amongst other things. You could just deal with the problem of neck shrinkage too, they only shrink so much and after a few years you can file it down and be done with it.
