Members bigbluesman
I am using a PODxt as a preamp through my twin. I have a jack for a poweramp on the back. Is this something I need? I noticed that some of my tone volumes are really lacking. What is a good poweramp to get that will not blow my twin?
Members Matter-Eater Lad
Your Twin already has a power amp. I'm guessing that jack is "power amp in". Meaning access TO the Twins power amp. So you plug your POD into that. That is what you are doing right? Dont plug the POD into the front input jack. I have a jack for Preamp and Poweramp. I plugged it into the Preamp jack. Maybe I will try the other one.
Members Matter-Eater Lad
like i said, only a guess. but if you buy another power amp you wouldn't need your Twin at all, except the speaker. You would then plug the POD into the power amp and the power amp to the speaker.

Members tommythelurker
The "preamp" jack is an output from the preamp section of your twin. The "poweramp" jack is an input to the power amp section of your twin. Do NOT plug your pod output into the preamp jack because you will have to outputs driving each other. What you want to do is plug the pod into the power amp input of your twin. This essentially bypasses the preamp section of your twin, replacing it with the pod which acts as the preamp instead.
