Members naskonja
anyone ever had experience with an ampeg 4x12? i might pick one up as a package deal with a 5150 for a really good price but im not sure if i should do that or just take the head and find a different cab for about 350ish.. i played through it and it sounded pretty good but i dont know about reliability or having it cranked for long periods of time ect.. anyone? Members JonathanD
depends on which one it is. If it's the model w/ celestion speakers, I say go for it.
Members rfaranda
I have one from the early 90's. Has 75's in it and its a great cab. Matched up perfect with my Triple Rect. when I had it.
Members naskonja
yeah ive seen so many bad reviews on their cabs but i mean it sounded pretty good with volume at about 4.5 and at 750 for the whole setup its a pretty good deal so i may pick it up tonight... i just need to open it up i guess
Members potaetoes
they had a few celestion-equipped cabs that were rather nice. greenbacks, G12T-75, and V30s... all great cabs, ply construction, solid parts. they also had some loaded with cheaper celestions, and some loaded with generic speakers, which were not so hot. particleboard, etc.
Members naskonja
yeah i think its a cheaper one but it sounds good and it was only 150 bux and i needed a cab lol works for now... actually sounds better than my 1960 cab with the 5150. Members Rich
I had one I just recently sold to my younger brother. It was all plywood except for the back (just like marshall cabs) and came with vin 30's. I sold the vin 30's and put greenbacks in it. Sounds kickass!
