Members fourthave_cafe
Hey all, currently i have a 15w fender starter amp, and i am looking to upgrade. I need something that can play a small gig, such as my school's battle of the bands. For sound, I'm looking for an amp that has a good warm tone for classic rock, but can also handle heavier stuff like Megadeth and Dream Theater. Price range is around 700 at the highest, preferrably around 600, but if its a good amp 700s fine. appreciate your time
Members S. I. Bentley
fourthave_cafe, first of all welcome to the HC boards. I think the best amps out there for the price range you mentioned are the Traynors. The closest you're gonna get to JP's tone without going over 1500 is a used Mesa F50 or something similar. The F series Mesas are killer amps too. I currently have the F50 112 and it kicks mucho ass with pretty much any type guitar I put through it. The Traynors are pretty damn nice too, but the 50 watt blue doesn't seem to like strats IMHO. Hope that gets you on you way to finding something good. Later, Sam. Members xMadiMx
What about a used JCM2000 combo?? probably find a low watt one for close to that. Otherwise brand new the Divinity Combo is 3 channel all tube and $699 That'll easy cover all those sounds.
