sorry if this is a really bad question.

 

you can see my equipment below...

what effects would I need to get that dimebag sound?

I've heard he never even used his signature stuff.

 

Do I need to get a solidstate amp?

and if so, which one?

For amps:

 

Randall RG100ES

Randall RG100HT (rackmount ES, he used these in his live rig)

Randall Century 200

 

And you'll need these will get you close to his tone with ALOT of tweeking:

 

Furman PQ-3 or PQ-4 Parametric EQ

MXR 6 band EQ

 

You'll want to get a noise gate too, as those outboard EQ's will add alot of noise.

The company who build the guts of the amp were at NAMM and they said it's the exact same thing. I take it they built the model Dime used as well.

That's what they told us.

 

and no, it's a Legion not a Randall.
