Members The Unknown
Hi ! I'm really new to keyboards so don't laugh or give me misleading info please ! I recently purchased a synth and I really like it. It has a MIDI OUT plug in the back. Is that the plug I need to be able to connect an expander ? Members tim gueguen
Depends on what you mean by an expander. If you mean a rackmount synth module then the answer is yes. MIDI Out from a device plugs into the MIDI In of another device to control it. However MIDI does not transmit audio, so to hear a synth you need to run its audio outs into some audio device like an amplifier.
Members Mediterranean
What Tim said. Are you a French speaker by any chance? That's what a synth rack/sound module is called: expandeur It does make sense in English, too. It expands one's sound library. You'll need this to control your module with your synth.
