Also want to record at some point. This is what I've purchased - Alesis Micron Keyboard/syth- Akai Mpd24 midi Sampler pad Questions:1. Is this a decent setup to start off? 2. I don't know anything about the Akai but have used the Alesis. As far as an amp recommendation goes, your question is rather vague.
