Members whoop
the dsl50 has a better clean and the lead channel has lots more distortion. however, there's a lot more to an amp than that meager criteria can reveal. you've really got to play them to understand
Members 1big1
i have a dsl 100. the jtm 45's i've heard are much smoother and have much less chime. i think that's because they're using kt 66's in the jtm as opposed to el 34's in the dsl. they really don't sound all that much alike. the dsl cleans are chimey.. not smooth. they both sound great.. they just do different things. the jtm circuit is based in a fender bassman circuit with a few tweaks that raised the midrange shelving.. while the dsl clean/crunch channel is based on a 1959 plexi circuit. hope that helps.
