Members funk5
To all that do their own work on clavinets and have re-yarned one before: How tight do you have the strings when putting the yarn on? I did a yarn job a long time ago, but now am doing it on another clav and think the strings may have been lose as the yarn pulled the strings together, so I'm having to start over. I'm following the instructions on clavinet.com and they don't make any mention of this. They just say to keep enough slack so you don't pull the strings. Any other tips. Thanks. Members mate_stubb
I reyarned once. As I recall, the strings were under full tune at the time. Since it was a Clavinet 2, and had tuning pegs instead of machines, I'm sure I didn't release the tension due to the danger of twisting the heads off pins.
