First-hand impressions of the Akai MiniAK? (hope it's not a repost)

Yeah, I've read that a few thousand times, but my understanding was that it had more capability than the Micron (more polyphony, more voices, 40-bands on the Vocoder, etc).

Even though the Synth engine is the same, it's a different machine, and I wasn't sure if anyone here had bought one yet.

Thanks!

How about looking it up?

Both have up to 8 voices, up to 1000 programs, 40-bands vocoder and everything else is the same too.

Nope. Same polyphony (8), same voices (8), same vocoder (40-band).

Go to the Specs tabs on each and play spot-the-differences. You won't find many aside from the obvious (the gooseneck microphone and the presence of the three wheels on the MINIAK, for example).

The MINIAK is the same synth in a different case.
