Im fairly new to the synth/MIDI world and I'd like to backup/recall my settings on my ION to my computer or DAW(SONAR). Any advice on what I need and how to do it would be greatly appreciated! Members Yoozer Posted March 22, 2010 Members Share Posted March 22, 2010 Just hit the record button on a MIDI track on Sonar, assuming that the Ion is hooked up to your MIDI interface (if you don't have one; E-mu Xmidi 1x1). Make sure any Sysex message filters are switched off. When Sonar is recording, perform a patch dump or bank dump on the Ion; the manual tells you how to do that. I would tell you but I no longer own an Ion and I've forgotten. Save the result as a plain MIDI file; it contains all the System Exclusive information of the patches.
