Members Banded-Morwong Posted July 27, 2006 Members Share Posted July 27, 2006 I have only had my JSX for a short time. And from what i have read the death of valves is supposed to be a slow process. But there i am practising last night everything normal. Then all of a sudden i hear these popping sounds coming from my amp then a drop in volume. I look up to my amp and my Power tubes are all glowing {censored}ing Bright Yellow!!!! Not just the heater filament inside the valves but the ENTIRE INSIDE COMPONENTS!!!! Now, i know that when valves glow purple they are on the way out, but what the {censored} happened here? I'm taking the head in for repair today. But i just want to know what would cause a valve to get so hot inside that all the metal components inside the valve glow yellow! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
