So I just got a Vox AC15CC1 and love the cleans. Any admiration for the amp stops when it is either overdriven by cranking it or by running boost/OD/Distortion pedals in front of it. I'm guessing its the stock tubes? Or does anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks :thu:

Must be something wrong with it because that amp sounds killer with an overdrive pedal  Maybe the output tubes.

well, I don't have the CC, but good tubes in my AC15ri made a WORLD of difference.

I put all JAN tubes in there....GE, Phillips, etc. Get a nice set of EL84s, and spend the money on a great V1, like a JAN-GE...

As far as pedals go, it can be picky, since it is so midrangey already. Tubescreamer no, Boss SD-1 OK, Crowther Hotcake, very nice.
