Members allmonochrome
i have a super reverb reissue, and whenever i have it on, even at lower volumes, it creates a lot of noise. it sounds like a humming at a low volume, but then when i turn the amp up more, there is a crackling sound as well, kind of like a frying pan almost. just lots of little noise and pops that add together to be too noisy and annoying. has anybody else had this issue before? does anybody have an idea what it is? thanks in advance. Members JerryP
There's all sorts of things that can cause noises. A hum could be caused by mismatched power tubes, a bad tube, a failed screen grid resistor causing an imbalance in the output section, faulty power supply filter caps, or a bad ground. Crackling noises can be tubes, dirty pots, poor solder connections, dirty jacks, or faulty plate resistors.Sounds like time for some TLC.Jerry
