Members JohnnyD Posted September 11, 2006 Members Share Posted September 11, 2006 Hi, Firstly, is the difference between the 9200 and the EL34-100/100 just that the 9200 has 5881 valves and the EL34 has EL34s? If so, what kind of difference would that make to the sound? Secondly, how much do you think one of these is worth these days. Members saxamafone Posted September 11, 2006 Members Share Posted September 11, 2006 as far as i know the 9200 is basically the same poweramp only it comes stock with 5881's/6L6's do a search for 6L6 VS EL34's to work out difference in sound. personally i'd take 6L6's anyday. also take out the 5881's and put in a good set of 6L6's instead. you may have to take the lid off the poweramp for the 6L6's to fit but they sound much better my guitarist runs JJ6L6's in his and it sounds much better than his 5881's price? can't help ya.. i'm just an aussie Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
