Members Cmogi10
I'm going to play in a Hardcore/Heavier band, it's not what I usually do but I want a decent priced head that can do that genre. I'm open to suggestions as well.
Members V-Type
Played one at an outdoor jam 3 weeks ago. Outstanding good tone from such a low $$$ amp. It has a Bogner feel to it and was for Rock and Metal. Slightly boosted with an 808 or ts-9 and all Metal territory could be achieved easily. Members guidedbyechoes
Carvins MTS has more of a crunch than the legacy.
Members Rindgecore
Boosted, the Legacy can do high gain crunch but there are amps that can do it better.

The MTS has an ugly tone, the Legacy is much nicer. You can really hear the clipping diodes in the MTS, and it sounds solid state. If you're looking for a head that will get you high gain without being boosted you should probably look for a used 5150. They're basically the staple amp for hardcore bands, and they go really cheap used.
Members Cmogi10
I've considered the 5150. I was just looking for something a bit different
Members OverdrivenEL34s
some bogner, splawn, voodoo, and wizard amps can give you awesome crunch tones...

You would be fine with a Legacy, and they sound great boosted.
