Members Ultimate DJ
Hey,I was recently introduced to the Glitch Mob, courtesy of Fighting Gravity, and wow...their new album is stunning. Like Animus Vox, Fortune Days, Bad Wings...incredible stuff.Anyone know what gear their using? Their drum kits are matched only by Enigma. I would kill to have Drumkits like that! The album, Drink The Sea is amazing....I was very surprised to find out it was their debut album. Members liliththekitten
seem to remember them being big Native Instruments fans. So maybe Kontakt, Battery, Maschine. Found this: http://www.dontparty.co.za/2010/09/the-glitch-mob-interview-exclusive/ "Right now we are mainly software based. We use Cubase 5, Ableton, Native Instruments software, Arturia, and UAD." "We split the entire song into bits and pieces first. Every note gets bounced out from Cubase as audio and imported into an Ableton Sampler instrument." Members Chando
Listened to a track... just sounded like someone holding the "roll" button on a sampler. anyone ever play with an Akai s20?
Members liliththekitten
I've always wanted an S20 since they are so cute, like a baby MPC. 32khz only and the sequencer isn't supposed to be very good. idk, I'd like to get something like that, load it up with kits. Members Chando
seriously ... it's a cheap way of getting the akai "roll" effect. Obviously I'd still say an MPC1000 is more logical. But logic is boring sometimes. (I'd say get a Akai Remix 16)
Members liliththekitten
aw, I saw one of those once, it looked nuts! Like an MPC in a DJ mixer. Love crazy stuff like that. I'm really considering an MPC1000, or maybe 500 but its buggy? or one of the newer MPDs that have note repeat
