Members SynthEnthusiast
Hey Guys, not really sure where to put this, but here goes. I am exporting a file from cubase, once it's done it just appears as a file,I then rename it to a mp3 file, and then it changes. Is it supposed to be like that?? The reason I ask is,Windows movie maker won't let me import my track,to make a video,it keeps saying the file is corrupt, missing codecs etc.. I can import other audio files not made by me.... Members Spacebagel
Cubase 4 doesn't come with MP3 encoding built in, that's an addon (which costs extra). Most likely you're exporting to a WAV file. You can't just change the name to turn it into an MP3, you need to encode the wav data to mp3 format. If you're using windows, you can check out some free mp3 encoders here: http://lame.sourceforge.net/links.php#Windows
Members paulo_
How are you exporting it? A lo of software has different names for exporting audio, like "bounce" or "render". Then, you should get a wave file.
