Members nyck Posted December 12, 2006 Members Share Posted December 12, 2006 Ok, so I have a really old Peavey Ultra 60 head. I got all new tubes for it so that's not the problem. The master volume and other volume knobs DO work fine. The problem is the amp sounds clean on the distortion channels but it's got this staticy type sound behind it also. It sometimes fades into 'working mode' where everything works the way it should, but only momentarily. The cables work OK, and the Cab/speakers are OK too, I tested them with other gear. The guitar isn't at fault either. I'm thinking it might be the amp's input..The patch cable thru effects loops doesn't work either.. Please help!
