I want a back up plan for metal bands, but overall im outgrowing playing metal and iwant to move on with my music a bit. I love all of te other sounds the shiva gets does any one have a bit more personal experience with this amp. Other amp suggestions are welcome, Im also looking at the engl fireball to run with my crate vc50 and have a well rounded set up such as this. Members wengnutt Posted December 27, 2006 Members Share Posted December 27, 2006 You know it's funny, Ive gotten to a point where I dont even use a boost on my Shiva. Sure, it doesnt have INSANE gain, but I use it for 90's sounding rock/grunge/metal. You can boost the front with an eq and that will boost it up quite a bit. Or set an overdrive pedal with the gain all the way down and the level up a bit. It takes pedals really well. I used an SD-1 when I boosted it.
