I know these came in blue and black tolex but I dont know the difference otherwise. Does anyone know the difference in specs? tubes, what they're worth, tones etc...?? Members dmk Posted January 11, 2007 Members Share Posted January 11, 2007 i've got a 6100 with el34's and 6100LM with 5881's.the only difference apart from the power section is that the LM's lead channel has more gain. a lot more gain. it sounds great for solo playing, but for rhythm stuff it can get a bit muddy. the non LM lead channel is a lot better in my opinion. still a lot of gain, but more usable. i prefer the 5881 power section though.either way, fantastic amps. and the midi is a godsend.make sure you get the footswitch with it though, they're really hard to find and cost a fortune to replace.
