Members conundrum23
Anyone with this device, how do you send patch settings from a PC to the MX8 successfully? I've tried UNO and UM1G interfaces (windows and OEM drivers), using XP and 7, MidiOx and Bomes Sysex. But I can only receive a sysex dump from the MX8 to the PC using the "transmit memory" function. It refuses to receive either a sysex file generated by the mx8editor software, or the same file that had been dumped from it to the PC. Is there some trick to doing this, or is this functionality probably just broken on my MX8? I changed the battery, and did the hardware reset procedure, but no joy. Everything else seems to work, so it's still usable. But it would be nice to be able to refresh the internal memory with a back up (or from files created on the software editor), rather than re-entering all of the patches by hand. Members DJ RAZZ
That is a very old but good unit. I think you can back up things on a tape deck. Either way for some reason it is one of the very few MIDI patch bays that can run a whol midi rig, units, preset changes and all.
