Members zoean
I found these tubes and I'm not sure what the deal is with them. Would they sound good in my amp? What type pre-amp tube are they? What tube slot ect. or are they just {censored}. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank!-Jeff The first one is a Mullard with the markings M813? and the one on the right is a West German Amperex 12AX7A.
Members chuckgp
I think that is a military-grade Mullard, and a later, orange-globe Amperex. Both excellent and expensive these days.

Members chuckgp
Either would provide an excellent tone, IMO. I use Mullards only now in my BadCat MiniCat and X-Treme tone pedal. Depends what's in your amp, and what you like. Experiment and see what they sound like. Go here and check the 'Reports and Reviews' for descriptions of the different tube's sound. There's probably other sites too. http://www.watfordvalves.com/home.asp
