Members FWAxeIbanez
So I've been tryin to pick up a couple jazz "how to" books, and I'm blown away by how often I'll see super strats and shredder guitars on the cover... A couple books had an EMG equipped guitar on it. Great marketing... I know it doesn't matter much, and it's more the player than the instrument, but when there are a half million books out there you have to consider everything. Am I gonna want to learn jazz from a failed hair rocker who can fake it, or a guy who's been inside the culture and has lived jazz? In reality? It's probably gonna be a mix of the two, and the pictures on the cover are all most likely stock photos that have been manipulated. I know this, but I still get irritated by having to wade through all the garbage... ok, that's it, I'm done... back to wading
Members sonofabias
I really would'nt be too concerned about the cover of the books you've checked out, afterall it's the content which really matters. I'd like to suggest some of the publications from Berklee press (berklee coll. of music) in boston. S.O.A. myspace.com/rainofkings
